Student Film - Armed and Trained

We're back! And, this is our first multi-song release. This digital EP from Student Film, entitled Armed and Trained, is one that we've been really excited about for a while now. This is five new songs from the band that I quite often hear referred to as "my favorite band". Student Film is one of the most influential bands in Oklahoma. Everyone that I know loves this band. And, everyone I know has wanted at some point to be in this band. I've had the pleasure of playing with them a few times. And, though we didn't play this song at any of the shows that I played with them, it was one of my favorites to play at practice.

We'll be releasing one new song per day for five days. At the end of that five days, you'll be in possession of the swanky new EP from the great Student Film. And, it's all free from Nice People! Don't forget to subscribe so you can get all of the free digital releases automatically.

Jeff Richardson & Steven Drozd - Do They Know It's Christmas?

Jeff Richardson (Locust Avenue) called me to book a day in the studio to record a cover of Do They Know It's Christmas? When he showed up for the session, he had Steven Drozd (Flaming Lips) with him. I can't even begin to describe how much fun I had working on that session. And, the song turned out really great! The guys didn't really have a plan for what to do with the song, outside of emailing it to friends. I felt that it would be a shame for this great cover to be kept so secret. So, I offered to make this cover the 2009 Nice People Holiday Single. They were excited about the idea. So, Nice People picked up the tab for licensing the cover and we're making it available to you for free. We really hope you'll enjoy this fantastic version of the 1984 Band Aid Christmas classic.
